PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE 2008
How quickly time passes. I still see myself as the perpetual student, endlessly learning from life’s challenges and problems.
We all embarked upon a constant journey: the journey of a student in the educational process; the journey of the teachers in their working lives; the journey of the board of trustees and the parents in whatever goals they choose to have. Each of these journeys, from the humblest to the boldest has something in common. Each has the mixture of opportunity and difficulty. At times, opportunities will be bountiful. At times, difficulties will dominate the horizon. One thing is sure; both will be present in any journey we take.
To navigate our journey to more opportunity we must set our sail right. It is not the bowing of the wind that determines our fortune it is the setting of our sail in response to it. For wherever we go the wind blows beyond our control. What determines our success and brings about the changes we desire is dependant on how we prepare, how we choose to plot our course and, when necessary, whether we stick to our guns.
Applying this concept to the context of our organisation (that is the same conviction I hold for our beloved CSNB) I urge everyone – the students, parents, trustees, employees and especially the members of my management team – to be vigilant in the setting of our sails in realising the 2010 vision and our bedrock program so that no matter how the winds blow, we will remain steadfast in our journey.
Let us remember the words of The Master Teacher, that if we find the way to serve the many then these services to many lead to greatness. We are very lucky for we are given this chance and the method to serve the many through His educational system.
All of us have the chance to participate in the miracle process – building an organisation second to none. Our reputations will precede us and we will serve further as examples of faith and achievement.
